The History of Lacoste

Lacoste was founded in 1933 by René Lacoste and André Gillier. The company began to create the most revolutionary tennis shirts that feature d the Lacoste crocodile logo embroidered on the chest.

French designer Christophe Lemaire was scouted by the company to create a more modern look for the brand, and in 2005 , 50 million Lacoste products were sold in over 110 countries. Their success skyrocketed due to the increase in contracts between the brand and professional tennis players, such as Andy Roddick, John Isner.

Today, Lacoste is thriving, with the company expanding into different markets, such as perfume and footwear.
